Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the winds that scatter the dust, 1 Then by oath of those which carry the burdens. 2 And those [ships] sailing with ease 3 And those that distribute and apportion by Command;- 4 Verily that which ye are promised is true; 5 and, verily, judgment is bound to come! 6 By the heaven full of paths, 7 Verily, [O men,] you are deeply at variance as to what to believe: 8 Only those who are destined to revert, are reverted from it. 9 Accursed be the conjecturers 10 who flounder in the depths of ignorance. 11 They ask, “When will be the Day of Judgement?” 12 It will be the Day whereon in the Fire they will be burned 13 Taste your burning: this is that which ye sought to be hastened. 14 Indeed the pious are among Gardens and water springs. 15 Taking what their Lord gives them; surely they were before that, the doers of good. 16 They slept very little during the night 17 and would pray for forgiveness from their innermost hearts; 18 And the beggar and the destitute had a share in their wealth. 19 There are signs in the earth for those who are firm in their faith, 20 And within yourselves. Can you not perceive? 21 And in heaven is your provision, and that you are promised. 22 So by the Lord of heaven and earth, it is as true as your speech. 23
