The Cave (Al-Kahf)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
All praise is to Allah Who sent down the Book upon His bondman, and has not kept any deviation in it. 1 right, to warn of great violence from Him, and to give good tidings unto the believers, who do righteous deeds, that theirs shall be a goodly wage 2 In which they will abide forever. 3 And to warn those (Jews, Christians, and pagans) who say, "Allah has begotten a son (or offspring or children)." 4 No knowledge whatever have they of Him, and neither had their forefathers: dreadful - is this saying that comes out of their mouths, [and] nothing but falsehood do they utter! 5 Yet it may be, if they believe not in this statement, that thou (Muhammad) wilt torment thy soul with grief over their footsteps. 6 We have appointed all that is on the earth for an adornment for it, and that We may try which of them is fairest in works; 7 For We shall certainly turn it to barren dust. 8 Or, do you think that the Fellows of the Cave and the Inscription were of Our wonderful signs? 9 When those youths sought refuge in the Cave and said: "Our Lord! Grant us mercy from Yourself and provide for us rectitude in our affairs." 10 Then We caused them to fall into a deep sleep for many years inside the cave. 11 We then awakened them to see which of the two groups more accurately tells the period they had stayed. 12
