The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the sky is torn apart, 1 And attentive to her Lord in fear, 2 And when the earth is flattened out, 3 And throws out whatever it contains and is empty, 4 And obeys its Lord and it must. 5 O man, you are striving unto your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 And as for him whose record shall be placed in his right hand, 7 He truly will receive an easy reckoning 8 And he will turn to his people, rejoicing! 9 But as for him who is given his book behind his back, 10 He shall presently call for death, 11 and roast at the Blaze. 12 Indeed, he had [once] been among his people in happiness; 13 Surely he thought that he would never return. 14 But yes! Indeed, his Lord was ever of him, Seeing. 15 So I swear by the afterglow of sunset; 16 And by oath of the night and all that gathers in it. 17 And [by] the moon when it becomes full 18 That you will climb from stage to stage. 19 What is the matter with them? Why do they not believe? 20 and when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 In fact the disbelievers keep denying. 22 God is quite aware of what they are storing in their hearts. 23 Hence, give them the tiding of grievous suffering [in the life to come] 24 except for those who believe and do good deeds. Theirs shall be an unending reward. 25
