He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ He frowned and turned away. 1 that the blind man came to him. 2 But what could tell thee but that perchance he might grow (in spiritual understanding)?- 3 Or that he might receive admonition, and that the admonition might profit him? 4 As for him who thinketh himself independent, 5 So you are after him! 6 though it is not thy concern, if he does not cleanse himself. 7 But as to him who came to thee striving earnestly, 8 and in awe of God 9 him didst thou disregard! 10 Nay, (do not do like this), indeed it (these Verses of this Quran) are an admonition, 11 So whosoever willeth - let him be admonished therewlth. 12 (This Quran) is also recorded in honorable books, 13 uplifted, purified, 14 In the hands of scribes 15 noble and purified. 16 May (the disbelieving) human being be condemned! What makes him disbelieve? 17 Of what did He create him? 18 From a sperm-drop: He hath created him, and then mouldeth him in due proportions; 19 and made the path of guidance easy for him to follow. 20 He will then send him to death and have him laid in the grave. 21 then, He will raise him when He wills. 22 Indeed, he has not fulfilled that which He has ordered him. 23 Then let man look at his food, 24 We send down abundant water, 25 and split the earth, splitting, 26 And We made corn grow, 27 And grapes and fodder, 28 And olives and palms 29 And enclosed Gardens, dense with lofty trees, 30 And fruit and grass - 31 [As] enjoyment for you and your grazing livestock. 32 AND SO, when the piercing call [of resurrection] is heard 33 on the Day when each man shall flee from his brother, 34 and from his mother and father, 35 And from his wife and sons. 36 every man that day shall have business to suffice him. 37 Some faces that Day, will be bright (true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 38 Laughing, rejoicing. 39 And [other] faces, that Day, will have upon them dust. 40 and veiled with darkness. 41 those -- they are the unbelievers, the libertines. 42
