Unknown Person (Al-Muzzammil)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
O THOU enwrapped one! 1 Stand (to prayer) by night, but not all night,- 2 A half thereof, or abate a little thereof, 3 and recite the Quran in a distinct tone; 4 Behold, We shall cast upon you a Weighty Word. 5 Lo! the vigil of the night is (a time) when impression is more keen and speech more certain. 6 Verily there is for thee by day occupation prolonged. 7 And remember the name of your Lord and, leaving others, devote yourself solely to Him. 8 Lord of the East and the West; there is no god but He; so take Him for a Guardian. 9 Bear patiently whatever they say, do not yield to them and keep on preaching decently to them. 10 And let Me alone with the beliers, owners of ease: and respite thou them a little. 11 Verily with Us are heavy fetters and Scorch. 12 And food that chokes and a painful punishment - 13 upon the day when the earth and the mountains shall quake and the mountains become a slipping heap of sand. 14 Surely We have sent to you an Apostle, a witness against you, as We sent an apostle to Firon. 15 Pharaoh disobeyed Our Messenger, so We seized him remorselessly. 16 If you disbelieve, how will you guard yourself against the Day that will make children gray haired, 17 on which the heaven will split apart, and His promise is done. 18 Verily this is a reminder. So let him who desires take the way to his Lord. 19
