The people of Lot accused the messengers of lies. 160 When their brother Lot said to them, "Will you not fear Allah? 161 "Verily! I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 162 so fear God and obey me. 163 And I ask of you no hire therefor; my hire is but with the Lord of the worlds. 164 What, do you come to male beings, 165 leaving your wives that your Lord created for you? Nay, but you are a people of transgressors. 166 They said: If thou cease not, O Lot, thou wilt soon be of the outcast. 167 (Lot) said: "I am disgusted with your actions," 168 My Lord, save me and my family from [the consequence of] what they do." 169 So We delivered him and his household all. 170 except an old woman who was among those that stayed behind. 171 then We totally destroyed the rest, 172 And We rained upon them a rain [of stones], and evil was the rain of those who were warned. 173 Lo! herein is indeed a portent, yet most of them are not believers. 174 And indeed your Lord – only He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 175
