Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 and by the self-reproaching soul! 2 What, does the human think We shall never gather his bones? 3 Yes indeed; We have the power to remould even his finger-tips. 4 Nay! (Man denies Resurrection and Reckoning. So) he desires to continue committing sins. 5 He asks: "When will the Day of Resurrection be?" 6 When, then, the sight shall be confounded. 7 And the moon becomes dark, 8 And the sun and the moon shall be joined. 9 on that Day will man say: “Whither the refuge?” 10 By no means! NO refuge! 11 To your Lord, that Day, is the [place of] permanence. 12 On that Day man will be informed of what he sent forward (of his evil or good deeds), and what he left behind (of his good or evil traditions). 13 Aye! man against himself shall be an enlightenment. 14 even though he offer his excuses. 15 [Prophet], do not move your tongue too fast in your attempt to learn this revelation: 16 We Ourself shall see to its collection and recital. 17 When We have recited it, follow its words attentively; 18 Again on Us (devolves) the explaining of it. 19 Not [as you think, that you (mankind) will not be resurrected and recompensed for your deeds], but (you men) love the present life of this world, 20 and neglect the life to come. 21 Some faces, that Day, will beam (in brightness and beauty);- 22 gazing towards their Lord. 23 and upon that day faces shall be scowling, 24 so they might think the Calamity had been inflicted upon them. 25 By no means! When it cometh up to the collar-bone. 26 and it is said: 'Who is a healing chanter' 27 And he knoweth that it is the parting; 28 And one shin will curl up with the other shin. 29 That Day the Drive will be (all) to thy Lord! 30
