Then, when the Messengers (the angels) came unto the family of Lout (Lot). 61 He said: Lo! ye are folk unknown (to me). 62 They said: nay! we have come to thee with that whereof they have been dubitating. 63 We have come to you for a genuine purpose and We are true in what we say. 64 Leave the town with your family sometime during the night. Walk behind them and let no one turn around. Proceed as you are commanded." 65 And We revealed to him this decree, that the roots of these shall be cut off in the morning. 66 And the inhabitants of the city came rejoicing (at the news of the young men's arrival). 67 He said, 'These are my guests; put me not to shame, 68 "And do not disgrace me. Have some fear of God." 69 They replied: "Did we not forbid you again and again to extend hospitality to all and sundry?" 70 He said: Here are my daughters, if ye must be doing (so). 71 By your life, (O Prophet), they went about blindly stumbling in their intoxication. 72 and thereupon the blast [of Our punishment] overtook them at sunrise. 73 and We turned those [sinful towns] upside down, and rained down upon them stone-hard blows of chastisement pre-ordained. 74 Indeed in that are signs for those who discern. 75 And surely it is on a road that still abides. 76 Indeed in this are signs for the believers. 77 Certainly the dwellers in the Thicket were evildoers, 78 So We took vengeance on them. And verily both are on a high-road open. 79
