And indeed We rescued the Descendants of Israel from a disgraceful torture. 30 at the hands of Pharaoh: he was a tyrant who exceeded all bounds. 31 And We exalted them over the other people knowingly, 32 And We gave them signs in which lay clear favours. 33 These people say, 34 There is naught but our first death, and we shall not be raised again. 35 Bring then our fathers if ye say so. 36 Are they better or the people of Tubba' and those before them? We destroyed them, [for] indeed, they were criminals. 37 And We did not create the heavens and the earth and what is between them in sport. 38 We created them in nothing else except the truth. But most do not know. 39 Surely the day of separation is their appointed term, of all of them 40 the Day when a friend shall be of no avail to his friend nor shall they be helped, 41 save those upon whom God will have bestowed His grace and mercy: for, verily, He alone is almighty, a dispenser of grace. 42
