Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the scatterers (the wind) scattering, 1 And (the clouds) that bear heavy weight of water; 2 And those [ships] sailing with ease 3 and execute the great task of apportioning (rainfall): 4 What you are promised is certainly true: 5 and the Judgement shall doubtlessly take place. 6 The heavens webbed-with-tracks is witness 7 surely, you are in different sayings, 8 though only those who are averse to the Truth will turn away from (believing in it). 9 Woe to the liars 10 Those who have forgotten in a state of intoxication. 11 They ask, "When will the Day of Judgement come?" 12 It will be on the day when they will be roasted in the fire. 13 Taste your burning: this is that which ye sought to be hastened. 14 As for the God-fearing, they shall be in the midst of gardens and fountains, 15 taking whatsoever their Lord has given them; they were good-doers before that. 16 They were in the habit of sleeping but little by night, 17 And used to seek forgiveness before dawn. 18 And in their properties there was the right of the beggar, and the Mahrum (the poor who does not ask the others). 19 There are many Signs on earth for those of sure faith, 20 just as [there are signs thereof] within your own selves: can you not, then, see? 21 And in the heaven is your provision and that which ye are promised. 22 By the Lord of the heavens and the earth, this is certainly true even as you speak. 23
