So when the envoys came to the household of Lot, 61 he said to them: 'I do not know you' 62 They answered: "Nay, but we have come unto thee with [the announcement of] something that they [who are given to evil] have always been wont to call in question, 63 "Yet we bring to you the truth, and we are truthful. 64 "So leave with your family late in the night, yourself remaining in the rear, and let none turn back to look, and go where you will be commanded." 65 And We communicated to him the decree that by the morning those people will be totally destroyed. 66 And the people of the city came rejoicing. 67 [Lout (Lot)] said: "Verily! these are my guests, so shame me not. 68 “And fear Allah and do not disgrace me.” 69 They said, 'Have we not forbidden thee all beings?' 70 He said, “These women of our tribe are my daughters, if you have to.” 71 Verily by your life they were utterly confused in their (lustful) drunkenness. 72 So As-Saihah (torment - awful cry, etc.) overtook them at the time of sunrise; 73 And We made the upside there of downwards, and We rained on them stones of baked clay. 74 There are great Signs in this for those endowed with intelligence. 75 for, behold, those [towns] stood by a road that still exists. 76 Verily, herein lies a message indeed for all who believe [in God]. 77 AND THE DWELLERS of the wooded dales [of Madyan, too,] were inveterate evildoers, 78 So We took vengeance on them. Both are still there on the highway, plain for all to see. 79
