Pray, (O Muhammad): "My Lord, if You should bring the scourge of which they had been warned in my presence, 93 "My Lord! Then (save me from Your Punishment), and put me not amongst the people who are the Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doing)." 94 Indeed, We are able to show you that which We promised them. 95 (O Muhammad)! Repel evil in the best manner. We are well aware of all that they say about you. 96 And say thou: my Lord! I seek refuge with Thee against the whisperings of the satans. 97 I seek refuge with You, Lord, lest they should come near me." 98 (In Falsehood will they be) Until, when death comes to one of them, he says: "O my Lord! send me back (to life),- 99 so that I may do good works in the world I have left behind." Never! It is indeed but a meaningless word that he utters. A barrier shall stand behind such people till the Day they are raised up again. 100 Then, when the trumpet [of resurrection] is blown, no ties of kinship will on that Day prevail among them, and neither will they ask about one another. 101 Then those whose scales are heavy, they are the successful. 102 But those whose scales weigh light will have ruined their souls; in Hell will they abide. 103 The Fire will sear their faces, and they therein will have taut smiles. 104 "Are you not those to whom My revelations were recited, and you dubbed them as lies?" 105 They will say, "Our Lord, our wretchedness overcame us, and we were a people astray. 106 Our Lord! Oh, bring us forth from hence! If we return (to evil) then indeed we shall be wrong-doers. 107 He will say, "Be quiet and say nothing." 108 There was a section among My creatures that said: 'O Lord, we believe. Forgive us and have mercy upon us, for You are the best of the merciful.' 109 But you took them for a laughingstock, so much so that they made you forget My Remembrance while you used to laugh at them! 110 "I have rewarded them this Day for their patience and constancy: they are indeed the ones that have achieved Bliss..." 111 And He will ask: 'How many years did you live on earth' 112 They shall say, 'We have tarried a day, or part of a day; ask the numberers!' 113 He will say: You did tarry but a little-- had you but known (it): 114 Did you think that We had created you only for play, and that you would never be returned to Us' 115 So, exalted be Allah, the True King! There is no god but He, the Lord of the Great Throne. 116 He, who invokes another deity along with God, a deity of whose divinity he has no proof, will be brought to account by his Lord. Certainly, those who deny the truth shall never prosper. 117 And say, (O Muhammad): "My Lord, forgive us and have mercy on us, for You are the Best of those that are merciful." 118
