The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the (angels) who tear out (the souls of the wicked) with violence; 1 by the angels who gently release the souls of the believers, 2 and by those that speedily glide along (the cosmos), 3 by the angels who hasten along 4 Then those who regulate the affair. 5 The day on which the quaking one shall quake, 6 and will be followed by the second one, 7 On that Day some hearts shall tremble (with fright), 8 Cast down will be (their owners') eyes. 9 They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, 10 Even after we are crumbled bones? 11 They shall say, 'That then were a losing return!' 12 Surely it will need but one shout, 13 to bring them out of their graves and back to life on the earth's surface. 14 Hath there come unto thee the history of Moses? 15 His Lord called to him in the Sacred Valley of Towa, 16 "Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed. 17 And say, "Hast thou the will to purify thyself; 18 Do you want me to guide you to your Lord, so that you should fear Him?'" 19 So he showed him the greater sign; 20 but he denied it as false and disobeyed, 21 Then he turned his back, striving. 22 Then he gathered and cried aloud, 23 and proclaimed, "I am your supreme Lord," 24 So God seized him with the chastisement of the Last World and the First. 25 Surely there is a great lesson in it for whoever would fear (Allah). 26
