The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the angels who drag forth vehemently. 1 By those (angels) who gently take out (the souls of the believers); 2 by the angels who float (in the heavens by the will of God), 3 and those that outstrip suddenly 4 And then they manage the affair, 5 One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, 6 and will be followed by the second one, 7 Many a heart will flutter on that day! 8 While eyes are downcast 9 They say: 'What, are we being restored as we were before, 10 Even if we should be decayed bones? 11 They will say: 'Then we are returned lost' 12 Surely it will need but one shout, 13 And suddenly they will be [alert] upon the earth's surface. 14 Hast thou received the story of Moses? 15 His Lord called out to him by the sacred valley of Tuwa: 16 "Go thou to Pharaoh for he has indeed transgressed all bounds: 17 "Tell him 'Do you have the inclination to become pure?' 18 [If so,] then I shall guide thee towards [a cognition of] thy Sustainer, so that [henceforth] thou wilt stand in awe [of Him].'" 19 Then [Musa (Moses)] showed him the great sign (miracles). 20 but he denied it as false and disobeyed, 21 Then he turned back striving. 22 And he gathered [his people] and called out 23 Yet to a rich man, 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the hereafter and the former life. 25 Most surely there is in this a lesson to him who fears. 26
