S (Saad)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Sad: By the Qur'an, Full of Admonition: (This is the Truth). 1 Nay, but those who disbelieve are in false pride and schism. 2 How many generations have We destroyed before them. They called: 'The time is neither of escape, nor safety' 3 It seems strange to the pagans that a man from their own people should come to them as a Prophet. The unbelievers have said, "He is only a lying magician". 4 Maketh he the gods One God? Verily that is a thing astounding! 5 And their leading chiefs said: "Remain attached to your gods. There is surely some motive behind it. 6 We never heard of this in the former faith; this is nothing but a forgery: 7 Hath unto him the admonition been sent down from amongst us! Yea! they are in doubt concerning My admonition. Yea! they have not yet tasted My torment. 8 Or do they [think that they] own the treasures of thy Sustainer's grace - [the grace] of the Almighty, the Giver of Gifts? 9 Or is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them theirs? Then let them ascend by ropes! 10 [They are but] soldiers [who will be] defeated there among the companies [of disbelievers]. 11 Before them there have belied the people of Nuh and the 'Aad, and Fir'awn the owner of the stakes. 12 Thamood, the nation of Lot and the dwellers of the Thicket such were the confederates. 13 There was not one of those that did not belie the Messengers. Therefore, My retribution was realized. 14
