'Aad denied the messengers 123 When their brother Hud said to them: "Will you not fear Allah and obey Him? 124 "I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust: 125 “Therefore fear Allah and obey me.” 126 And I ask of you no hire therefor: my hire is but with the Lord of the worlds. 127 "Do ye build a landmark on every high place to amuse yourselves? 128 And seek ye out strongholds, that haply ye may last for ever? 129 “And when you apprehend someone, you seize him mercilessly?” 130 Have fear of God and obey me. 131 Fear Him who has given you all the things you know. 132 “He aided you with cattle and sons.” 133 and with gardens and springs. 134 indeed, I fear for you the torment of an awful day." 135 They replied: 'It is the same to us whether you admonish or whether you are not one of the admonishers. 136 This has been happening all along. 137 "And we are not going to be punished." 138 So they gave him the lie, then We destroyed them. Most surely there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. 139 But, verily, thy Sustainer - He alone - is almighty, a dispenser of grace! 140
