The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers, 1 who in their prayers are humble 2 And they who turn away from ill speech 3 Who strive for betterment; 4 and guard their private parts 5 Except with those joined to them in the marriage bond, or (the captives) whom their right hands possess,- for (in their case) they are free from blame, 6 Those who desire to go beyond such limits they commit transgression, 7 And who are shepherds of their pledge and their covenant, 8 And those who strictly guard their (five compulsory congregational) Salawat (prayers) (at their fixed stated hours). 9 and who are steadfast in their prayer. 10 that shall inherit Paradise; and in it they shall abide for ever. 11 Verily We created man from a product of wet earth; 12 then We set him, a drop, in a receptacle secure, 13 Then We made the sperm into a clot of congealed blood; then of that clot We made a (foetus) lump; then we made out of that lump bones and clothed the bones with flesh; then we developed out of it another creature. So blessed be Allah, the best to create! 14 And then, behold! after all this, you are destined to die; 15 Then (again), surely, you will be resurrected on the Day of Resurrection. 16 We have indeed fashioned above you seven paths. Never were We unaware of the task of creation. 17 And We sent down out of heaven water in measure and lodged it in the earth; and We are able to take it away. 18 We have produced palm-groves and vineyards for you, in which there are abundant fruits for you; and you eat these, 19 And also a tree that springeth forth from mount Sinai, that groweth oil and is a sauce for the eaters. 20 And in cattle (too) ye have an instructive example: from within their bodies We produce (milk) for you to drink; there are, in them, (besides), numerous (other) benefits for you; and of their (meat) ye eat; 21 And you are carried on them and on boats. 22
