We certainly bestowed Our favor upon Moses and Aaron 114 and We saved them and their people from the awesome calamity [of bondage,] 115 And We supported them so it was they who overcame. 116 and We gave them the Book which helps to make things clear; 117 guided them to the right path, 118 And We kept their praise among the latter generations. 119 Peace be upon Moses and Aaron. 120 That is how We reward those who do good. 121 Surely both of them were among Our believing servants. 122 And lo! Elias was of those sent (to warn), 123 He said to his people, "Have you no fear [of God?] 124 Do you call on Baal, and abandon the Best of creators? 125 who is your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers?" 126 But they cried him lies; so they will be among the arraigned, 127 Except the chosen slaves of Allah. 128 And we left for him among the later folk (the salutation): 129 Peace be upon Elias. 130 Verily, thus do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers, who perform good deeds totally for Allah's sake only - see V. 2:112). 131 He was one of Our believing servants. 132 Lot was also one of the messengers. 133 Behold, We delivered him and his adherents, all 134 except an old woman who lingered, 135 and We destroyed the rest. 136 Verily, ye pass by their (sites), by day- 137 Or at night. Then how is it you do not understand? 138
