Hizb 46

Jonah too was one of the Envoys; 139 When he ran away (like a slave from captivity) to the ship (fully) laden, 140 and cast lots, and was of the rebutted, 141 So the fish swallowed him while he did that for which he blamed himself 142 Had he not glorified God, 143 he would have lingered in its belly till the Day they are resurrected. 144 ۞ But We threw him on a wide bare tract of land while he was ill; 145 and We caused a gourd tree to grow over him. 146 And We sent him to a hundred thousand, rather they exceeded. 147 And they believed, whrefore We let them enjoy life for a season. 148 Then ask them whether your Lord has daughters and they have sons. 149 Did We create the angels females, to which they were witnesses? 150 It is only because of their false invention that they say, 151 That “Allah has offspring”; and indeed, surely, they are liars. 152 Did He (then) choose daughters rather than sons? 153 What is the matter with you? How do you form your judgement? 154 What, and will you not remember? 155 “Or do you have some clear proof?” 156 Bring your Book, if you speak truly! 157 They link Him with jinns by lineage, yet the jinns know they will be brought before Him. 158 (They say): “Exalted be Allah above what they attribute to Him, 159 Except His chosen creatures who do not. 160 But as for you, and that you worship, 161 you shall not tempt any against Him 162 Except the one who will go into the blazing fire. 163 "There is not one of us who does not have his appointed place," (declare the angels.) 164 And most surely we are they who draw themselves out in ranks, 165 We glorify God." 166 What, would they then say: 167 “If only we had the Reminder which had been granted to the people of yore 168 We would have been the chosen servants of Allah." 169 They have rejected the Quran. They will soon know the consequences (of their disbelief). 170 And assuredly Our word hath already gone forth Our bondmen, the sent ones: 171 That they verily would be helped, 172 and that it is Our host that would certainly triumph. 173 So turn thou from them for a while, 174 And see [what will befall] them, for they are going to see. 175 Our torment seek they to hasten on! 176 When it lights in their courtyard, how evil will be the morning of them that are warned! 177 And turn away from them for some time. 178 and see, soon they shall see! 179 Glorified be your Lord, the Lord of Honour and Power! (He is free) from what they attribute unto Him! 180 And peace upon the messengers. 181 and praise be to God, the Lord of all the Worlds. 182
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
