And remember Our servant Ayyub, when he called upon his Lord: The Shaitan has afflicted me with toil and torment. 41 We said to him, “Strike the earth with your foot; this cool spring is for bathing and drinking.” (A spring gushed forth when he struck the earth – this was a miracle.) 42 And We gave him his family and the like of them with them, as a mercy from Us, and as a reminder to those possessed of understanding. 43 (We said to him): 'Take a bundle of rushes and strike with it; and do not break your oath' We found him to be patient, a good worshiper and he was penitent. 44 And remember Our servants, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob - those of strength and [religious] vision. 45 Indeed, We chose them for an exclusive quality: remembrance of the home [of the Hereafter]. 46 They are the chosen ones, the excellent in Our sight. 47 And remember Ishmael, Elisha and Dhu'l-Kifl. Every one of them is among the best. 48 This was a remembrance. An excellent retreat awaits the God-fearing 49 Gardens of Eden, whereof the gates are opened for them, 50 in which they will recline, and call for abundant fruit and drink therein. 51 ۞ And with them are those of modest gaze, companions. 52 This is what you, [the righteous], are promised for the Day of Account. 53 this is Our provision, unto which there is no end.' 54 This is so! And for the Taghun (transgressors, disobedient to Allah and His Messenger - disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, criminals, etc.), will be an evil final return (Fire), 55 Hell, wherein they roast: a wretched couch. 56 This (shall be so); so let them taste it, boiling and intensely cold (drink). 57 And other torments of similar kind, all together! 58 Here is a multitude rushing headlong with you. There is no welcome for them. They will roast in the fire. 59 (The followers shall cry to the misleaders:) "Nay, ye (too)! No welcome for you! It is ye who have brought this upon us! Now evil is (this) place to stay in!" 60 They will say: "Our Lord! Whoever brought this upon us, add to him a double torment in the Fire!" 61 And they will say, "Why do we not see men whom we used to count among the worst? 62 Is it that we mistakenly made fun of them; or have they disappeared from our sight?” 63 Truly that is just and fitting,- the mutual recriminations of the People of the Fire! 64
