Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heavens are rent asunder, 1 And the stars dispersed, 2 when the seas are made to burst forth, 3 and when the graves are overturned 4 (Then) a person will know what he has sent forward and (what he has) left behind (of good or bad deeds). 5 O man! What hath made thee careless concerning thy Lord, the Bountiful, 6 The One Who created you, then moulded you, then made you proper? 7 In whatever form He willed, He put you together. 8 No indeed; (the fact is that) you deny the Reckoning, declaring it a lie; 9 yet there are over you watchers 10 noble recorders, 11 They know what you do. 12 the virtuous will dwell in bliss, 13 and the libertines shall be in a fiery furnace 14 roasting in it on the Day of Recompense 15 nor shall they ever be absent from it. 16 Ah, what will convey unto thee what the Day of Judgment is! 17 Again, what could let you know what the Day of Recompense is! 18 It is the Day when no soul can do a thing for another soul. That Day, the command belongs to Allah. 19
