Nay, verily: By the Moon, 32 By the night when it withdraweth. 33 The morning when it is unveiled, 34 hell is certainly the greatest calamity. 35 A warning to mortals, 36 A warning unto him of you who shall go forward or who chooseth to lag behind. 37 Every soul will be in captivity for its deeds 38 Except the Companions of the Right Hand. 39 who in their gardens will be enquiring 40 of those who were lost in sin: 41 “What drove you to Hell?” 42 They will reply, "We did not pray, 43 And we have not been feeding the poor. 44 and we indulged in vain talk with those who indulged in vain talk, 45 "And used to deny the Day of Justice." 46 Till death overtook us. 47 So no intercession will avail them. 48 What is the matter with people that they are turning away from this Exhortation, 49 As if they were alarmed donkeys 50 fleeing -- before a lion? 51 Rather, every person among them desires that he would be given scriptures spread about. 52 Nay! But they fear not the Hereafter (from Allah's punishment). 53 No, indeed, surely, this is a Reminder. 54 and whoever wills may take it to heart. 55 And they will not receive admonition unless Allah wills; He (Allah) is the One, deserving that mankind should be afraid of, and should be dutiful to Him, and should not take any Ilah (God) along with Him, and He is the One Who forgives (sins). 56
