Nay, and by the moon, 32 And the night when it withdraweth 33 And the daybreak when it shines; 34 Indeed hell is one of the greatest entities. 35 A warning to mortals, 36 to whoever of you desires to go forward or lag behind. 37 Each soul is held in pledge for what it earns, 38 Except the Companions of the Right Hand. 39 In gardens, they shall ask each other 40 of those who were lost in sin: 41 [And asking them], "What put you into Saqar?" 42 They will say: "We were not of those who prayed; 43 and neither did we feed the needy; 44 We plunged in with the plungers 45 and we cried lies to the Day of Doom, 46 till the certainty (death) overtook us' 47 So the intercession of intercessors shall not avail them. 48 What is the matter with people that they are turning away from this Exhortation, 49 As though they were asses startled. 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Aye! every one of them desireth that: he should be vouchsafed scrolls expanded. 52 No indeed; the truth is that they have no fear of the Hereafter. 53 Nay, verily, this (Quran) is an admonition, 54 So, whoever wills may benefit from it. 55 they will only take heed if God so wills: He is the Lord who is worthy to be feared: the Lord of forgiveness. 56
