Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Ha, Meem. 1 A revelation from the Beneficent, the Merciful, 2 a Book whose revelations are well expounded, an Arabic Quran for people who possess knowledge, 3 Giving glad tidings and heralding warning; so most of them turned away, therefore they cannot listen (to the truth). 4 And they say: Our hearts are under coverings from that to which you call us, and there is a heaviness in our ears, and a veil hangs between us and you, so work, we too are working. 5 Proclaim (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), “Physically I am a human like you – I receive the divine revelation that your God is only One God, therefore be upright towards Him and seek forgiveness from Him”; and woe is to the polytheists. – 6 Who give not the poor-rate; and they! in the Hereafter, they are disbelievers. 7 As to those who have faith and do good works, surely theirs shall be a never-ending reward. 8
