Al-Dukhaan 3 of 3
Lo, the Tree of Ez-Zakkoum 43 The food of sinners. 44 It will be like molted brass which will boil in the bellies 45 like water. 46 (And it will be said): Take him and drag him to the midst of hell, 47 “Then pour on his head the punishment of boiling water.” 48 "Taste thou (this)! Truly wast thou mighty, full of honour! 49 “Indeed this is what you used to doubt about.” 50 Verily the God-fearing will be in a place secure 51 Amid gardens and watersprings, 52 wearing [garments] of silk and brocade, facing one another [in love]. 53 Even so. And We shall pair them with fair damsels large-eyed. 54 There in security, they will call for every kind of fruit. 55 They shall not taste therein death except the first death, and He will save them from the punishment of the hell, 56 A grace from your Lord; this is the great achievement. 57 THUS, THEN, [O Prophet,] have We made this [divine writ] easy to understand, in thine own [human] tongue, so that men might take it to heart. 58 Wait then (O Muhammad). Lo! they (too) are waiting. 59

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
