Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By (the winds) that scatter dust. 1 and those that bear the burden [of the rain], 2 Then by oath of those which move with ease. 3 and the partitioners, 4 What you are promised is certainly true: 5 the Judgement will surely come to pass -- 6 By the beautiful heavens, 7 Indeed, you are in differing speech. 8 From which only he turns who is turned away. 9 May the conjecturers perish, 10 who are dazed in perplexity 11 'When will the Day of Judgement be' they ask. 12 Upon the day when they shall be tried at the Fire: 13 'Taste your trial. This is what you have sought to hasten' 14 Lo! those who keep from evil will dwell amid gardens and watersprings, 15 taking whatsoever their Lord has given them; they were good-doers before that. 16 they would lie asleep during but a small part of the night, 17 And ere the dawning of each day would seek forgiveness, 18 and [would assign] in all that they possessed a due share unto such as might ask [for help] and such as might suffer privation. 19 And on the earth are signs for those who have Faith with certainty, 20 And also in your ownselves. Will you not then see? 21 And in heaven is your provision, and that you are promised. 22 And by the Lord of the heavens and the earth, it is the truth, even as (it is true) that ye speak. 23
