Hast thou considered him who turns his back 33 who gave a little, and then stopped? 34 Does he [claim to] have knowledge of something that is beyond the reach of human perception, so that he can see [it clearly]? 35 Has he not heard what is contained in the Book of Moses, 36 and of Abraham, who lived up to the trust? 37 That no burdened soul bears another soul’s burden? 38 and that man shall have nothing but what he has striven for, 39 And that his effort will be seen. 40 Then he will be fully repaid for it? 41 To your Lord will all things eventually return. 42 That it is He who makes you happy and morose, 43 And that it is He who causes death and gives life 44 and that it is He who created pairs, the male and the female, 45 from an ejaculated drop (of sperm), 46 and on Him depends the life hereafter. 47 It is He who grants people temporary and durable wealth. 48 That He is the Lord of Sirius (the Mighty Star); 49 that it was He that destroyed ancient Aad 50 and Thamood, and He did not spare them, 51 And the people of Nuh (Noah) aforetime, verily, they were more unjust and more rebellious and transgressing [in disobeying Allah and His Messenger Nuh (Noah)]. 52 And He overthrew the Cities of the Plain, 53 So there covered them that which covered. 54 About which of the bounties of your Lord can they persistently dispute? 55 THIS IS a warning like those warnings of old: 56 The imminent Hour has drawn near, 57 There shall be none besides Allah to remove it. 58 At this discourse then marvel ye? 59 Why do you laugh rather than weep? 60 While you are proudly sporting? 61 So bow yourselves before God, and serve Him! ۩ 62
