The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
O you (Prophet Muhamad), the cloaked, 1 Arise and warn! 2 Glorify your Lord, 3 thy robes purify 4 And stay away from idols. 5 do not bestow a favour in the expectation of receiving more in return; 6 And for the good-will of thy Lord be thou patient. 7 When the Trumpet shall be sounded, 8 That will be- that Day - a Day of Distress,- 9 For the unbelievers, anything but easy. 10 LEAVE Me alone [to deal] with him whom I have created alone, 11 To whom I granted resources in abundance, 12 And sons dwelling in his presence, 13 And I adjusted affairs for him adjustably; 14 yet he is eager that I increase him. 15 By no means! surely he offers opposition to Our communications. 16 Soon will I visit him with a mount of calamities! 17 For he thought and he plotted -- 18 May he be accursed, how he planned! 19 Yea, Woe to him; How he plotted!- 20 Then he looked, 21 And frowned and puckered his brow, 22 Then he turned back and was proud; 23 Then he said: This is naught but enchantment, narrated (from others); 24 this is nothing but the word of a mere mortal!” 25 I shall surely roast him in Sakar; 26 - Ah, what will convey unto thee what that burning is! - 27 It leaves naught nor does it spare aught. 28 It glows and burns the skin. 29 over it are nineteen. 30 And We have not made the keepers of the Fire except angels. And We have not made their number except as a trial for those who disbelieve - that those who were given the Scripture will be convinced and those who have believed will increase in faith and those who were given the Scripture and the believers will not doubt and that those in whose hearts is hypocrisy and the disbelievers will say, "What does Allah intend by this as an example?" Thus does Allah leave astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And none knows the soldiers of your Lord except Him. And mention of the Fire is not but a reminder to humanity. 31
