Have you [Prophet] considered the man who turned away, 33 And gave a little and [then] refrained? 34 Has he the knowledge of the unseen so that he can see? 35 Nay, is he not acquainted with what is in the Books of Moses- 36 And of Ibrahim (Abraham) who fulfilled (or conveyed) all that (what Allah ordered him to do or convey), 37 That no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another 38 And that for man shall be naught save that wherefor he endeavoureth. 39 and that his labouring shall surely be seen, 40 Then he will be fully repaid for it? 41 And that to your Lord is the goal- 42 That it is He Who granteth Laughter and Tears; 43 And that it is He who causes death and gives life 44 And that He createth the pair, the male and the female. 45 From a drop of liquid, when it is added? 46 And that on Him is the bringing forth a second time; 47 And that it is He Who enricheth and preserveth property. 48 And that He (Allah) is the Lord of Sirius (the star which the pagan Arabs used to worship); 49 And that He destroyed the first [people of] 'Aad 50 And Samood, so He spared not 51 And the people of Noah before. Indeed, it was they who were [even] more unjust and oppressing. 52 And the overthrown cities did He overthrow, 53 Then covered them with that which covered them. 54 About which, then, of thy Sustainer's powers canst thou [still] remain in doubt? 55 He who warns you is one of the warners of old. 56 The (Judgment) ever approaching draws nigh: 57 [although] none but God can unveil it.... 58 Will you, then, wonder at this? 59 And you laugh and do not weep 60 indulging in carelessly idle games? 61 So prostrate yourselves before God and worship him. ۩ 62
