Hast thou considered him who turns his back 33 and gives so little [of himself for the good of his soul,] and so grudgingly? 34 Does he have knowledge of the hidden, so he can foresee? 35 Or has he not been told of what is in the scrolls of Moses, 36 and of Abraham, who lived up to the trust? 37 That no burdened soul bears another soul’s burden? 38 That man can have nothing but what he strives for; 39 That his endeavours will be judged, 40 And afterward he will be repaid for it with fullest payment; 41 and that the final end is unto thy Lord, 42 That it is He Who granteth Laughter and Tears; 43 And that He it is Who causes death and gives life- 44 That He did create in pairs,- male and female, 45 from an ejaculated drop (of sperm), 46 And that [incumbent] upon Him is the next creation 47 It is He who grants people temporary and durable wealth. 48 and that it is He who is the Lord of Sirius, 49 And that He destroyed the first [people of] 'Aad 50 And Thamud (people). He spared none of them. 51 Like the people of Noah before them, who were surely oppressors and rebellious; 52 And that it is He Who threw down the upturned townships? 53 So they were covered with whatever covered them? 54 So which then of your Lord's favors do you dispute? 55 This (Muhammad SAW) is a warner (Messenger) of the (series of) warners (Messengers) of old. 56 The Imminent is imminent; 57 apart from God none can disclose it. 58 Do you then wonder at this announcement? 59 And will ye laugh and not weep,- 60 indulging in carelessly idle games? 61 Therefore prostrate for Allah, and worship Him.
