The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
96 verses, revealed in Mecca after T H (Taa Haa) before The Poets (Alshu'araa')
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ WHEN WHAT IS to happen comes to pass -- 1 there will be nought that could give the lie to its having come to pass, 2 It will bring low (some); (and others) it will exalt; 3 This will happen when the earth is shaken, shaken 4 and the mountains crumbled, 5 So that they shall be as scattered dust. 6 you shall be divided into three parties, 7 Those on the right hand; how happy shall those on the right hand be! 8 And those on the left how (wretched) are those on the left! 9 And the foremost in the race, the foremost in the race: 10 They shall be the nearest to God. 11 In Gardens of Bliss: 12 A number of people from those of old, 13 And a few of those (foremost) will be from the later time (generations). 14 On couches in wrought with gold. 15 Reclining thereon facing each other. 16 Surrounded by immortal boys. 17 With bowls and ewers and a cup from a pure spring 18 Whereby there shall be neither headiness nor will they be inebriated. 19 And fruits that they may like. 20 And the flesh of fowl such as they desire. 21 And pure, beautiful ones, 22 Like pearls within their shells, 23 As recompense for all they had done. 24 There hear they no vain speaking nor recrimination 25 Other than "Peace, peace" the salutation. 26 The Companions of the Right (O Companions of the Right!) 27 Among thornless lote-trees 28 Among Talh trees with flowers (or fruits) piled one above another,- 29 In shade long-extended, 30 By water flowing constantly, 31 And fruit in plenty, 32 unfailing and not forbidden. 33 and upraised couches. 34 and the noble maidens that We have created 35 And made them virgin - pure (and undefiled), - 36 Loving, of equal age. 37 For those of the right hand. 38

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
