Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ The indubitable event! 1 How awesome that laying-bare of the truth! 2 And what will make you realize what the Inevitable Hour is? 3 Samood and Ad called the striking calamity a lie. 4 the Thamud were destroyed by a terrible storm of thunder and lightning; 5 and the Ad were destroyed by a furiously raging wind-storm 6 which God let loose against them for seven nights and eight days unremittingly, so that you could have seen its people lying prostrate as though they were the hollow trunks of palm-trees which had fallen down. 7 Can you see any of their survivors? 8 And Pharaoh, and those before him, and the Cities Overthrown, committed habitual Sin. 9 They disobeyed the Messenger of their Lord and He seized them with torment which increased with time. 10 When the water rose in flood, We bore you in the ark, 11 That We might make it for you a reminder and [that] a conscious ear would be conscious of it. 12 Hence, [bethink yourselves of the Last Hour,] when the trumpet [of judgment] shall be sounded with a single blast, 13 And the earth and the mountains shall be removed from their places, and crushed with a single crushing, 14 On that day shall the great event come to pass, 15 and heaven shall be split, for upon that day it shall be very frail, 16 And the angels will be on the sides thereof, and eight will uphold the Throne of thy Lord that day, above them. 17 That will be the Day when you shall be brought forth (before Allah) and no secret of yours shall remain hidden. 18 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, he shall say, 'Here, take and read my book! 19 I was sure that the record of my deeds would be shown to me". 20 Then he shall be in a life well-pleasing 21 In an elevated garden, 22 its clusters nigh to gather. 23 (And it will be said unto those therein): Eat and drink at ease for that which ye sent on before you in past days. 24 But as for him who will be given his Record in his left hand, will say: "I wish that I had not been given my Record! 25 And knew not what my reckoning! 26 “Alas, if only it had been just death.” 27 My riches have not availed me, 28 There hath perished from me my authority. 29 "Seize him and manacle him, 30 then throw them into hell to be heated up therein. 31 then in a chain of seventy cubits' length insert him! 32 "This was he that would not believe in Allah Most High. 33 And urged not on the feeding of Al-Miskin (the poor), 34 Therefor hath he no lover here this day, 35 nor any food except foul pus 36 "Which none do eat but those in sin." 37
