Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Inevitable Reality - 1 What is the Indubitable? 2 And what would make you realize what the sure calamity is! 3 Thamud and 'Aad denied the Striking Calamity. 4 Then the Thamud were destroyed by an awesome upheaval; 5 And as for 'Aad, they were destroyed by a screaming, violent wind 6 which continued to strike them for seven nights and eight days so that eventually you could see the people lying dead like the hollow trunks of uprooted palm-trees. 7 and dost thou now see any remnant of them? 8 Similarly, Pharaoh, and those before him, and the ruined villages, sinned 9 And they disobeyed the messenger of their Lord, therefor did He grip them with a tightening grip. 10 Lo! when the waters rose, We carried you upon the ship 11 That We might make it a Message unto you, and that ears (that should hear the tale and) retain its memory should bear its (lessons) in remembrance. 12 And when the trumpet shall sound one blast 13 And the earth is moved, and its mountains, and they are crushed to powder at one stroke,- 14 On that Day shall the (Great) Event come to pass. 15 And the sky will be rent asunder, for it will that Day be flimsy, 16 And the angels will be on its sides; and on that day, eight angels will carry the Throne of your Lord above them. 17 You will then be set before Him, and not one of you will remain unexposed. 18 Then, as for him who is given his record in his right hand, he will say: Take, read my book! 19 “I was certain that I will confront my account.” 20 Then he will be in blissful state 21 In high empyrean 22 with clusters of fruit within easy reach. 23 "Eat ye and drink ye, with full satisfaction; because of the (good) that ye sent before you, in the days that are gone!" 24 And as for him who is given his book in his left hand he shall say: O would that my book had never been given me: 25 and that we would never knew what our records contained. 26 O would that it had made an end (of me): 27 "My wealth has not availed me, 28 my authority is gone from me.' 29 Lay hold on him, then put a chain on him, 30 Then in the Scorch roast him 31 Then thrust him into a chain the length of which is seventy cubits. 32 Behold, he never believed in God the All-mighty, 33 nor did he feel any urge to feed the needy, 34 Today he has been left here friendless; 35 Nor any food except refuse, 36 which only the sinners eat". 37
