Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ The indubitable event! 1 And what is that indubitable event? 2 And what do you know what that indubitable event is? 3 Thamud and 'Ad people denied the Qari'ah [the striking Hour (of Judgement)]! 4 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the awful cry! 5 and the 'Ad were destroyed by a furious wind 6 which He willed against them for seven nights and eight days without cease, so that in the end thou couldst see those people laid low [in death,] as though they were so many [uprooted] trunks of hollow palm trees: 7 So do you see any survivor among them? 8 Pharaoh and those before him and the people of the overturned habitations all engaged in the same great sin. 9 They defied their Lord's messenger, so He seized them with an ever-tightening grip. 10 Indeed when the water swelled up, We boarded you onto the ship. 11 That We might make it unto you an admonition, and that it might be retained by the retaining ears. 12 When a single blast is blown on the trumpet, 13 And the earth and the mountains will be lifted up and crushed with a single crush. 14 then, on that day, the Terror shall come to pass, 15 The sky will cleave asunder on that day and fall to pieces. 16 And the angels are at its edges. And there will bear the Throne of your Lord above them, that Day, eight [of them]. 17 On that Day you shall be brought to judgment: not [even] the most hidden of your deeds will remain hidden. 18 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, he will say: Lo! read my book: 19 "I did really understand that my Account would (One Day) reach me!" 20 so he will live in a state of Bliss 21 In a Garden on high, 22 with clusters of fruit within easy reach. 23 [They will be told], "Eat and drink in satisfaction for what you put forth in the days past." 24 But as for him who is given his book in his left hand, he shall say, 'Would that I had not been given my book 25 And I had not known what my account was: 26 How I wish my death had ended all. 27 My wealth has not helped me a thing 28 and my authority has been destroyed' 29 It will be said, “Seize him, and shackle him.” 30 Then cast him to be burnt in Hell; 31 Then fasten him with a chain seventy cubits long: 32 Behold, he never believed in God the All-mighty, 33 And urged not on the feeding of the wretched. 34 Wherefore for him here this Day there is no friend. 35 neither any food saving foul pus, 36 Which none but the hellish eat." 37
