He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ He frowned and turned away. 1 Because there came to him the blind man. 2 And what do you know, he may be of the pure! 3 (He might) remember, and the Reminder might profit him. 4 Yet you pay attention 5 you attend to him, 6 And no blame is on you if he would not purify himself 7 And to him who came to you eagerly 8 And he feareth 9 From him thou art distracted. 10 Nay! surely it is an admonishment. 11 So let him who pleases mind it. 12 Inscribed in Writs honoured, 13 Exalted (in dignity), kept pure and holy, 14 By the hands of scribes. 15 noble and purified. 16 Perish Man! How unthankful he is! 17 From what has God created him? 18 From Nutfah (male and female semen drops) He created him, and then set him in due proportion; 19 Then the way He made easy. 20 then causes him to die and buries him, 21 Then, when He willed, He brought him out. (As during the night of Holy Prophet’s ascension, when all the Prophets gathered behind him in the Al Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem. Or when Allah will raise everyone on the Day of Resurrection.) 22 Indeed, he has not fulfilled that which He has ordered him. 23 Let man, then, consider [the sources of] his food: 24 For that We pour forth water in abundance, 25 And We split the earth in fragments, 26 And We cause therein the grain to grow, 27 And grapes and vegetables 28 Olives and dates, 29 And dense gardens, 30 And fruits and grasses: 31 A provision for you and your cattle. 32 But when the deafening cry shall be sounded 33 Man will fly from his brother, 34 mother, father, 35 wife and sons, 36 for on that day everyone will be completely engrossed in his own concerns. 37 Some faces that Day, will be bright (true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 38 Laughing, rejoicing at good news. 39 And many a face will be covered with dust on that day. 40 Covered with the blackness (of shame): 41 these, these will be the ones who denied the truth and were immersed in iniquity! 42
