Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching person (a believer). 2 Does man (a disbeliever) think that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Indeed yes, We are able to shape his fingerstips yet again! 4 In fact, people want to have eternal life in this world. 5 He asks, "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 But when sight is confounded 7 And the moon is eclipsed 8 And the sun and moon are conjoined, 9 Man shall say on that day: Whither to fly to? 10 But nay: no refuge [for thee, O man]! 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat that Day. 12 Upon that day man shall be told his former deeds and his latter; 13 In fact, people are well-aware of their own soul 14 even though he offer his excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue therewith that thou mayest hasten therewith. 16 Indeed, upon Us is its collection [in your heart] and [to make possible] its recitation. 17 And so when We recite it, follow its recitation attentively; 18 It's explanation is upon Us. 19 None except you, O disbelievers – you love what you have, the fleeting one. 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 (Some) faces on that day shall be bright, 22 Looking toward their Lord; 23 And countenances on that Day shall be scowling. 24 believing that a crushing calamity is about to strike them. 25 Nay! When it comes up to the throat, 26 and it is said: “Is there any enchanter who can step forward and help (by his chanting)?” 27 and when he thinks it is the time of departure 28 And one leg will be joined with another: 29 that will be the time to be driven to one's Lord. 30
