The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder 1 And listens and obeys its Lord, and it must do so; 2 when the earth is stretched out 3 and casts forth whatever is in it, and becomes utterly void, 4 And obeys its Lord and it must. 5 O man, having striven hard towards your Lord, you shall meet Him: 6 Then, as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand, 7 shall have an easy reckoning 8 And he will return to his family rejoicing. 9 But he who is given his Record behind his back,- 10 shall call for destruction 11 but he will enter the blazing flame. 12 Verily he was among his people joyous. 13 He assumed that he does not have to return. 14 Yea! surely his Lord does ever see him. 15 No! I swear by the twilight 16 And the night and that which it drives on, 17 by the moon, in its fullness 18 you shall surely ride stage after stage. 19 What is the matter with them that they do not accept faith? 20 and when the Koran is recited to them that they do not prostrate! ۩ 21 Nay, but those who disbelieve will deny; 22 And Allah knows best what they gather (of good and bad deeds), 23 So give them tidings of a painful punishment, 24 Except to those who believe and work righteous deeds: For them is a Reward that will never fail. 25
