The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Woe to those that deal in fraud,- 1 Those who when they take the measure from others, take it in full! 2 Whereas when they give others after measuring or weighing, they give them less! 3 Think they not that they will be resurrected (for reckoning), 4 on a Great Day, 5 The Day when (all) mankind will stand before the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)? 6 NAY, VERILY, the record of the wicked is indeed [set down] in a mode inescapable! 7 How will you comprehend what Sijjin is? 8 The record is a sealed text. 9 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 10 Who call the Day of judgement a lie! 11 And none deny it except every sinful transgressor. 12 When Our revelations are recited before him, he says: "These are fables of long ago." 13 No. In fact what they have been doing has rusted their hearts. 14 Therefore they will be screened off from their Lord that day, 15 then they shall enter the Fire of Hell, 16 and it will be said to them: 'This is that which you belied' 17 NAY, VERILY - the record of the truly virtuous is [set down] in a mode most lofty! 18 And what can make you know what is 'illiyyun? 19 A book inscribed, 20 Witnessed by those who are honoured. 21 Indeed, the righteous will be in pleasure 22 (reclining) upon couches they will gaze, 23 You will recognize in their faces the radiance of pleasure. 24 as they are given to drink of a wine sealed 25 its seal is musk, for this let the competitors compete; 26 a wine tempered with the waters of Tasnim, 27 A fountain from which only they who are honoured drink. 28 Those in sin used to laugh at those who believed, 29 And when the believers used to pass by, they used to gesture at each other with their eyes. 30 And when they returned to their own people, they would return jesting; 31 and when they saw them they said, 'Lo, these men are astray!' 32 And they were not sent to be keepers over them. 33 so today those who believe shall [be able to] laugh at those who denied the truth 34 upon couches gazing. 35 Have the disbelievers [not] been rewarded [this Day] for what they used to do? 36
