The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the sky is torn apart, 1 and obeys its Lord as it must, 2 and when the earth is stretched out 3 And has cast out all that was in it and became empty, 4 and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed! 5 Human being, you strive hard to get closer to your Lord, and so you will certainly receive the recompense (of your deeds). 6 So whoever is given his record of deeds in his right hand – 7 will be easy, 8 And will return to his people full of joy. 9 But he who is given his Record behind his back,- 10 He surely will invoke destruction 11 And will go into the blazing fire. 12 He used to live joyfully among his people, 13 for he never thought that he would have to return [to God]. 14 Yes indeed, his Lord was ever watching him. 15 So I swear by the twilight glow 16 And by oath of the night and all that gathers in it. 17 And the moon when it grows full, 18 That you shall most certainly enter one state after another. 19 What aileth them, then, that they believe not 20 And when the Quran is recited to them they do not make obeisance? ۩ 21 But on the contrary the Unbelievers reject (it). 22 God is quite aware of what they are storing in their hearts. 23 So give them news of painful punishment, 24 Except those who believe and do good; for them is a reward that shall never be cut off. 25
