The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By [the winds] that pluck out vehemently 1 and gently take it away; 2 by those that swim serenely 3 And then they speed with foremost speed. 4 by those that direct an affair! 5 One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, 6 followed by the succeeding, 7 On that day hearts beat painfully 8 Their looks will be downcast. 9 They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, 10 even though we may have become [a heap of] crumbling bones?" 11 They say, "That, then, would be a losing return." 12 But it shall be only a single scare, 13 And they will wake up suddenly. 14 Has not there come to you the story of Musa? 15 When his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa. 16 Go to Firon, surely he has become inordinate. 17 And say to him, 'Would you [be willing to] purify yourself 18 that I may direct you to your Lord and then you hold Him in awe?'” 19 So he showed him the mighty sign. 20 But he denied and disobeyed, 21 Then he turned away, deliberating, 22 So he gathered the people, and proclaimed. 23 Then he said: I am your lord, the most high. 24 So Allah seized him in exemplary punishment for the last and the first [transgression]. 25 Surely there is a great lesson in it for whoever would fear (Allah). 26
