And when you went out at dawn from your family to lodge the believers in their positions for the battle. Allah is Hearing, Knowing. 121 Remember two of your parties Meditated cowardice; but Allah was their protector, and in Allah should the faithful (Ever) put their trust. 122 Allah indeed aided you at Badr when you had no means; so fear Allah – so that you may be thankful. 123 [And remember] when thou didst say unto the believers: "Is it not enough for you [to know] that your Sustainer will aid you with three thousand angels sent down [from on high]? 124 Yea! if you remain patient and are on your guard, and they come upon you in a headlong manner, your Lord will assist you with five thousand of the havoc-making angels. 125 And Allah did not make it but as good news for you, and that your hearts might be at ease thereby, and victory is only from Allah, the Mighty, the Wise. 126 That He might cut down a section of the disbelievers or suppress them so that they turn back disappointed. 127 No part of the matter is yours whether He turns towards them or punishes them. They are harmdoers. 128 Unto Allah belongeth whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth. He forgiveth whom He will, and punisheth whom He will. Allah is Forgiving, Merciful. 129
