The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
READ in the name of thy Sustainer, who has created 1 Has created man from a clot (a piece of thick coagulated blood). 2 Recite: And thy Lord is the Most Generous, 3 Who has taught (the writing) by the pen [the first person to write was Prophet Idrees (Enoch)]. 4 He taught the human being what he did not know. 5 Yet man behaves arrogantly, 6 Because he considers himself self-sufficient. 7 However, (all things) will return to your Lord. 8 What do you think? Have you seen he who forbids 9 A servant when he prays? 10 Have you thought, if he had been on guidance 11 Or enjoins righteousness? 12 What thinkest thou? If he cries lies, and turns away - 13 Does he not know that Allah does see? 14 Indeed, if he does not desist, We will seize him by the forelock, 15 the lying, rebellious forehead! 16 So let him call on his concourse! 17 We will call the guards of Hell (to deal with him)! 18 Nay! (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him))! Do not obey him (Abu Jahl). Fall prostrate and draw near to Allah! ۩ 19
God the Almighty always says the truth.
