Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ NAY! I call to witness the Day of Resurrection! 1 Nay! I swear by the self-accusing soul. 2 Do men think that We shall never be able to assemble their bones? 3 Yes indeed; We are able to shape again his fingers. 4 Yet man is sceptical of what is right before him. 5 He questions: "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 So, when the sight shall be dazed, 7 And the moon will be eclipsed, 8 And the sun and the moon will be united. 9 On that day man will cry: Whither to flee! 10 Alas! No refuge! 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat that Day. 12 Man will be informed that Day of what he sent ahead and kept back. 13 nay, but man shall against himself be an eye-witness, 14 And even if he presents all the excuses he has, none will be listened to. 15 [Prophet], do not move your tongue too fast in your attempt to learn this revelation: 16 Surely on Us (devolves) the collecting of it and the reciting of it. 17 And when We read it, follow thou the reading; 18 It's explanation is upon Us. 19 Nay! But you love the present life, 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 On that day, some faces will shine with freshness. 22 Looking at their Lord (Allah); 23 And [some] faces, that Day, will be contorted, 24 Thinking that some calamity was about to fall on them; 25 But when [man's soul] reaches the throat, 26 And it will be said: "Who can cure him and save him from death?" 27 and he thinks that it is the parting 28 and leg is intertwined with leg, 29 unto thy Lord that Day is the drive. 30
