Al-Hummazah

The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

Ruin is for every open slanderer, backbiter. 1 who amasses wealth, counting it over, 2 He thinks that his wealth will make him last forever! 3 By no means! He shall surely be cast into the crushing torment. 4 And what shall make thee know that which the Crushing Fire is? 5 The fire of Allah, kindled, 6 the Fire that shall rise to the hearts (of criminals). 7 Lo! it is closed in on them 8 In pillars stretched forth (i.e. they will be punished in the Fire with pillars, etc.). 9

Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
