He it is Who sends down water from the cloud for you; it gives drink, and by it (grow) the trees upon which you pasture. 10 and thereby He brings forth for you crops, and olives, and palms, and vines, and all manner of fruit. Surely in that is a sign for a people who reflect. 11 He harnessed the day and night for you, as also the sun, the moon and the stars, by His command. In this are signs for men who understand. 12 And He hath subjected for you whatsoever He hath multiplied for you on the earth of various kinds. Verily therein is a sign for a people who receive admonition. 13 It is He who subjected to you the sea, that you may eat of it fresh flesh, and bring forth out of it ornaments for you to wear; and thou mayest see the ships cleaving through it; and that you may seek of His bounty, and so haply you will be thankful. 14 And He placed mountains as anchors in the earth so that it may not shake along with you, and streams and roads for you to find course. 15 And marks and sign-posts; and by the stars (men) guide themselves. 16 Then is He who creates like one who does not create? So will you not be reminded? 17 If ye would count up the favours of Allah, never would ye be able to number them: for Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. 18 God knows all that you conceal or reveal. 19 And those they invoke other than Allah create nothing, and they [themselves] are created. 20 they are dead, not living, and they do not [even] know when they will be raised from the dead! 21
