And the chiefs of his people who disbelieved and called the meeting of the hereafter a lie, and whom We had given plenty to enjoy in this world's life, said: This is nothing but a mortal like yourselves, eating of what you eat from and drinking of what you drink. 33 If ye were to obey a mortal like yourselves, then, lo! ye surely would be losers. 34 Does he promise you that when you have died and become dust and bones that you will be brought forth [once more]? 35 ۞ "Far, very far is that which ye are promised! 36 There exists only our present life: we die and we live [but once], and shall never be raised up again. 37 He is nothing but a man who attributes his own lying inventions to God, and we are not going to believe him!" 38 He said: my Lord! vindicate for they belie me. 39 [Allah] said, "After a little, they will surely become regretful." 40 Then the Blast overtook them with justice, and We made them as rubbish of dead leaves (floating on the stream of Time)! So away with the people who do wrong! 41 Then, after them, We brought forth other generations. 42 No community can anticipate their term, nor can they lay behind. 43 Then We sent Our Messengers in succession, every time there came to a nation their Messenger, they denied him, so We made them follow one another (to destruction), and We made them as Ahadith (the true stories for mankind to learn a lesson from them). So away with a people who believe not. 44 Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron with Our signs and clear authority 45 unto Pharaoh and his Council; but they waxed proud, and they were a lofty people, 46 And so they said: "Shall we believe [them] two mortals like ourselves - although their people are our slaves?" 47 So they accused them of falsehood, and they became of those who were destroyed. 48 And We certainly gave Moses the Scripture that perhaps they would be guided. 49 And We made the son of Mary and his mother a sign and sheltered them within a high ground having level [areas] and flowing water. 50
