The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The All-merciful 1 Hath made known the Qur'an. 2 He hath created man. 3 [And] taught him eloquence. 4 The sun and the moon follow courses (exactly) computed; 5 and the stars and the trees bow themselves; 6 He raised the sky and set the Balance 7 so that you should not transgress the measure. 8 And establish weight in justice and do not make deficient the balance. 9 And the earth! He hath lain it out for the creatures. 10 Therein are fruit and palm-trees sheathed. 11 And grain covered with husk, and fragrant flowers. 12 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you deny? 13 He created the human from clay, like earthenware 14 And the jinn did He create of smokeless fire. 15 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you deny? 16 He is the Lord of the two easts and the Lord of the two wests. 17 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 18 He has given freedom to the two great bodies of water, so that they might meet: 19 but has created a barrier between them so that they will not merge totally. 20 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 21 There come forth from the twain the pearl and the coral. 22 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 23 And to Him belong the ships [with sails] elevated in the sea like mountains. 24 Which of the favours of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 25
