The people of Lot rejected the Messengers, branding them liars. 160 When their brother Lot said unto them: Will ye not ward off (evil)? 161 Verily I am unto you an apostle trusted. 162 So fear God and listen to me. 163 I ask of you no recompense for this; my reward is only with the Lord of the Universe. 164 Go ye in, of all creatures, unto the males? 165 Leaving the consorts your Lord has made for you? But you are a people who exceed the bounds." 166 They said: "If you cease not. O Lout (Lot)! Verily, you will be one of those who are driven out!" 167 He said: 'Truly, I am a detester of what you do' 168 My Lord, deliver me and my family from their wicked deeds." 169 So We saved him and his family, all, 170 Except an old woman, among those who remained behind. 171 then We destroyed the others, 172 We rained down on them a shower (of brimstone): and evil was the shower on those who were admonished (but heeded not)! 173 Verily herein is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 174 And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 175
