۞ Gather together those who were unjust and their associates, and what they used to worship 22 Beside Allah, and lead them on to the path of the Flaming Fire. 23 And detain them, for they will be questioned." 24 "What is the matter with you? Why do you not help one another (as you used to do in the world)?" 25 In fact, on that day they will be submissive. 26 They will turn upon one another, and question one another. 27 They will say: "It was you who used to come to us from the right side [i.e. from the right side of one of us and beautify for us every evil, order us for polytheism, and stop us from the truth i.e. Islamic Monotheism and from every good deed]." 28 They will say: nay! ye yourselves were not believers. 29 "And we had no authority over you. Nay! But you were transgressing people (disobedient, polytheists, and disbelievers). 30 “So the Word of our Lord has proved true upon us; we will surely have to taste (the punishment).” 31 Therefore we perverted you, and we ourselves were perverts.' 32 On that Day, they will all share the chastisement. 33 Certainly, that is how We deal with Al-Mujrimun (polytheists, sinners, criminals, the disobedient to Allah, etc.). 34 They were the ones, who on being told, "God is only One," become puffed-up with pride 35 And to say: What! shall we indeed give up our gods for the sake of a mad poet? 36 Rather, the Prophet has come with the truth and confirmed the [previous] messengers. 37 you shall surely taste the painful punishment, 38 And ye shall be required not except for that which ye have been doing; 39 But not the chosen servants of Allah. 40 for them awaits a known provision, 41 and fruits while they are honored. 42 in the Gardens of Bliss, 43 On couches, facing one another. 44 a goblet from a spring shall be passed round to them 45 white, a delight to the drinkers, 46 causing no headiness or intoxication. 47 And with them will be maidens (houris) who restrain their wide glances 48 As though they were eggs hidden. 49 They will turn to one another with questions: 50 And a speaker from among them will say: verily there was unto me a mate. 51 'Do you believe in the Day of Judgment? 52 Shall we be recompensed for our deeds after we die and become bones and dust? 53 [And] he adds: "Would you like to look [and see him]?" 54 Then he will look down and see him in the midst of the Flaming Fire. 55 He says, 'By God, wellnigh thou didst destroy me; 56 Had I not the guidance of my Lord, I would certainly have been brought into torment". 57 Is it then that we are not going to die, 58 Except our previous death? And we shall not be chastised? 59 Verily this is the supreme achievement! 60 and for the like of this let the workers work. 61 Is that better by way of hospitality or the Zaqqum tree, 62 For We have truly made it (as) a trial for the wrong-doers. 63 It is a tree that grows from the bottom of Hell; 64 Its spathes are like the prickly pear. 65 Truly, they will eat thereof and fill their bellies therewith. 66 Then on top of it they will have a brew of boiling water. 67 And afterward, lo! their return is surely unto hell. 68 They found their father going astray 69 So they (too) were rushed down on their footsteps! 70 And truly before them, many of the ancients went astray;- 71 And indeed We sent among them warners (Messengers); 72 and behold what happened in the end to those that had been warned [to no avail]! 73 Except the chosen slaves of Allah (faithful, obedient, and true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 74
