Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Ha Mim 1 I swear by the illustrious Book. 2 We verily, have made it a Quran in Arabic, that you may be able to understand (its meanings and its admonitions). 3 And surely it is in the original of the Book with Us, truly elevated, full of wisdom. 4 Shall We utterly ignore you because ye are a wanton folk? 5 We have sent many a prophet to earlier peoples 6 And never came there a Prophet to them but they used to mock at him. 7 So We destroyed (them)- stronger in power than these;- and (thus) has passed on the Parable of the peoples of old. 8 And if thou (Muhammad) ask them: Who created the heavens and the earth, they will surely answer: The Mighty, the Knower created them; 9 The One Who made the earth a bed for you, and made roads for you in it, so that you may be guided. 10 That sends down (from time to time) rain from the sky in due measure;- and We raise to life therewith a land that is dead; even so will ye be raised (from the dead);- 11 He Who created all the pairs, and appointed for you ships and cattle whereupon ye ride. 12 That you may firmly sit on their backs, then remember the favor of your Lord when you are firmly seated thereon, and say: Glory be to Him Who made this subservient to us and we were not able to do it 13 It is to our Lord that we shall eventually return.” 14 Yet they assign to Him some of His own (created) worshipers! Clearly, the human is unthankful. 15
