NOW, VERILY, it is We who have created man, and We know what his innermost self whispers within him: for We are closer to him than his neck-vein. 16 Moreover, there are two scribes, one each sitting on the right and the left, recording everything. 17 not even a word can he utter but there is a watcher with him, ever-present. 18 And when the agony of death comes in truth (they will say): 'This is what you have been trying to avoid' 19 and [in the end] the trumpet [of resurrection] will be blown: that will be the Day of a warning fulfilled. 20 Every soul will be accompanied (by an angel) behind him and another as a witness. 21 [and will be told:] "Indeed, unmindful hast thou been of this [Day of Judgment]; but now We have lifted from thee thy veil, and sharp is thy sight today!" 22 And his accompanying angel said, “This is the record of your deeds, available with me.” 23 Do cast into hell every ungrateful, rebellious one, 24 Hinderer of good, transgressor, doubter, 25 who has set up another deity beside God: cast him, then, cast him into suffering severe!" 26 ۞ And his companion shall say: 'Our Lord, I did not make him insolent, he was far astray' 27 [Allah] will say, "Do not dispute before Me, while I had already presented to you the warning. 28 The sentence that cometh from Me cannot be changed, and I am in no wise a tyrant unto the slaves. 29
