The Moon (Al-Qamar)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
The Hour has come near, and the moon has split [in two]. 1 But if they see a sign they turn away, and say: "This is the same old lie continuing," 2 They reject (the warning) and follow their (own) lusts but every matter has its appointed time. 3 And there has already come to them of information that in which there is deterrence - 4 which are full of wisdom; but the warnings do not help. 5 So (O Muhammad SAW) withdraw from them. The Day that the caller will call (them) to a terrible thing. 6 Their eyes humbled, they will emerge from the graves as if they were locusts spreading, 7 Rushing towards the caller; the disbelievers will say, “This is a tough day.” 8 ۞ The folk of Noah denied before them, yea, they denied Our slave and said: A madman; and he was repulsed. 9 Noah prayed, "Lord, help me; I am defeated". 10 So We opened the gates of heaven with water pouring forth. 11 And We opened up the springs of the earth; and the waters met for a decreed end. 12 We carried him in a well built, watertight vessel made from planks (of wood) 13 floated on under Our eyes: a vindication of him who had been rejected. 14 And indeed, We have caused such [floating vessels] to remain forever a sign [of Our grace unto man]: who, then, is willing to take it to heart? 15 So how awesome were My chastisement and My warnings! 16 And assuredly We have made the Qur'an easy for admonition; is there then any one who would be admonished? 17 The 'Ad had also disavowed. How was then My punishment and My commination! 18 We loosed against them a wind clamorous in a day of ill fortune continuous, 19 Which snatched away men as though they were palm trees pulled out by the roots. 20 So how awesome were My chastisement and My warnings! 21 And We have indeed made the Qur’an easy to memorise, so is there one who would remember? 22
